This morning witnessed the official inauguration of the activities and programs of “Digital Transformation Summer” in Al Buraimi Governorate, held under the patronage of Eng. Tariq bin Hassan Al Ma’amari, Head of the Digital Transformation Team in the Governorate of Al Buraimi, and attended by a number of Digital Transformation Ambassadors along with participants from various segments of society. In his keynote speech, Eng. Al Ma’amari highlighted the significance of the current stage in enabling individuals and institutions to harness modern technological tools. He reaffirmed the team’s commitment to enhancing digital awareness across all segments of the local community, particularly in light of the accelerating pace of digital transformation in the Sultanate of Oman. The Digital Transformation Summer 2025 program features a wide range of activities aimed at strengthening digital capacities and promoting a culture of technology. These include six specialized training workshops addressing vital topics such as cyber fraud and phishing, in addition to a dedicated forum discussing the latest developments in digital transformation, with the participation of distinguished experts and professionals in the field. The event also incorporates an important awareness-raising component targeting mothers and homemakers, introducing them to the Ministry of Health’s “Shifa” application, alongside other initiatives designed to explain government digital services available to all members of society. Furthermore, two digital competitions were announced, to be launched every Saturday through the official accounts of Al Buraimi Governorate, aimed at fostering digital engagement and showcasing the technical skills of young people. The ceremony featured a visual presentation highlighting the key achievements of last year’s Digital Transformation Summer and its positive impact, followed by an inspiring address delivered by students Jana Al-Hashimiyah and Alyazia Al-Alawiyah, who expressed the aspirations of the younger generation toward an advanced technological future. The event concluded with the honoring of students who participated in the 2025 Summer Forum and the English Language Initiative, in addition to recognizing supporting entities and the dedicated organizing team. This initiative reaffirms Al Buraimi Governorate’s commitment to strengthening its digital readiness and nurturing the capabilities of its youth, in alignment with the national vision for comprehensive digital transformation. It reflects the spirit of initiative and proactivity that Oman’s governorates are embracing in preparation for a fully integrated digital era.
