Al Buraimi Governorate has commenced the implementation of internal road paving projects in several areas of Wilayat Al Buraimi, with a total length of 100 kilometers and a cost exceeding 5.2 million Omani Rials, as part of the 2025 plan for internal and connecting roads in the governorate. Eng. Musa bin Saeed Al-Abri, Director General of Al Buraimi Municipality, explained that the projects for designing and paving internal roads in the Wilayah consist of three main packages, serving the areas of Al-Gharaifa (all phases), New Sa’ara, Ard Al-Jaw, Al-Khadra, and Al-‘Aqda. He added: “These projects will enhance the efficiency of the internal road network and its linkage with main roads, improving traffic flow and meeting the aspirations of residents for modern and sustainable services. They will also support economic and tourism activities in the governorate, while advancing the development of infrastructure in line with the requirements of comprehensive development and the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.” At present, work is focused on the initial stages of the project, including road clearance, soil leveling, and preparing routes for future utility lines. The completion rate has so far reached 6%, with the entire project expected to be finalized by the first half of 2027. Upon completion, the project will significantly strengthen the governorate’s infrastructure, meet community needs, and support the ongoing process of urban development in Wilayat Al Buraimi.
