The Municipal Council of Al Buraimi Governorate held its eighth meeting of 2025, chaired by Mr. Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Jabri, Deputy Chairman of the Council, and attended by council members, to discuss a number of items listed on the agenda. The meeting began with a welcoming remark from the Deputy Chairman, who expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by various entities in the municipal and service sectors, as well as the initiatives and events being implemented to serve citizens and residents and to enhance local development in the governorate.The Events and Awareness Department in Al Buraimi Governorate delivered a visual presentation showcasing the proposed events planned for the 2025–2026 season. These include recreational, cultural, and sports activities targeting different age groups, aimed at strengthening community engagement and contributing to the social, cultural, and tourism vitality of the governorate. Nama Water Services Company also presented a visual briefing outlining the mechanism for maintaining water quality—from desalination to end-user consumption—and the importance of ensuring compliance with Omani and international standards. The presentation highlighted the role of specialized teams in periodic monitoring and laboratory testing, along with the company’s efforts in awareness campaigns promoting proper household water-tank cleaning and water-use conservation. The meeting concluded with discussions on several matters referred by the relevant authorities, including minutes and recommendations from previous meetings of the Health, Social, and Environmental Affairs Committee, in addition to reviewing various service requests and development proposals from the wilayats of the governorate.
