Al Buraimi Governorate, represented by the Department of Planning and Investment and in cooperation with the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, organized the events of World Quality Week 2025, held this year under the theme “Think Differently.” The initiative aims to promote a culture of quality and institutional excellence, and to raise awareness of the importance of innovation and unconventional thinking in improving performance and services in alignment with the goals of Oman Vision 2040. The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al-Kalbani, Wali of Al Buraimi. The program featured three specialized working papers covering various themes in quality, improvement, and innovation. Dr. Abdullah bin Saeed Al-Kalbani from the University of Buraimi delivered a paper titled “Quality and Continuous Improvement,” highlighting the importance of adopting continuous development as a standard practice in work environments. Mr. Yamen Al-Duraidi from Al Buraimi University College presented a paper titled “Quality Through a Strategic Lens,” emphasizing the need to integrate quality into institutional strategic plans to achieve sustainable institutional excellence. Eng. Widad bint Ahmed bin Rashid Al-Maamari from Omantel delivered a paper titled “Innovative Thinking and Quality Impact,” discussing the role of innovation in creating a sustainable institutional impact that enhances performance efficiency and quality. The program also showcased two notable experiences in the fields of quality and innovation. Eng. Tariq bin Hassan bin Ali Al-Maamari, Head of the Digital Transformation Team at the Office of the Governor of Al Buraimi, presented “Al Buraimi’s Digital Transformation Experience,” highlighting key digital initiatives that have contributed to improving government performance and raising service quality. Meanwhile, Eng. Mazin bin Rashid bin Saeed Al-Badi shared a success story from one of the governorate’s innovators, presenting his journey in transforming an innovative idea into a successful national project that embodies the concept of thinking differently and creating impactful quality. The event concluded with a panel discussion featuring Dr. Abdullah bin Saeed Al-Kalbani, Mr. Yamen Al-Duraidi, and Eng. Widad bint Ahmed Al-Maamari, moderated by Mr. Anwar bin Zahir Al-Gharibi, the official spokesperson of Al Buraimi Governorate. The session discussed ways to promote different thinking as an institutional work approach, and the role of innovation in achieving sustainable quality in line with the aspirations of Oman Vision 2040. Mr. Omar bin Mahmood Al-Mandhari, Head of Quality Control at the Office of the Governor of Al Buraimi, affirmed that the events of World Quality Week reflect the principle that quality begins with changing the way we think, and that continuous improvement and shared excellence form the path toward achieving integrated institutional performance that strengthens organizational competitiveness and translates the goals of Oman Vision 2040 into tangible reality.
