Strong Competition in the Endurance Race in Al Buraimi Governorate

The Al Buraimi Governorate Endurance Horse Race competitions over a distance of 100 kilometers kicked off in Al Buraimi. The event was organized by Al Buraimi Governorate in cooperation with the Oman Equestrian and Racing Federation in Wilayat Mahdha, with the participation of 49 horses. This comes within the framework of the growing sports movement witnessed by the governorate and its commitment to supporting equestrian sports and strengthening their presence in the sporting scene.The race was held over a total distance of 100 kilometers, divided into three stages: the first stage covered 35 kilometers, followed by the second stage covering 35 kilometers, while the third stage extended over 30 kilometers, in accordance with the approved endurance race track and under integrated technical and organizational supervision.The race results saw the mare “Haboob Muscat” win first place, ridden by Mahmoud bin Saeed Al Saeedi, owned by Hala bint Mohammed Al Turki, and trained by Hamad bin Saeed Al Saeedi. The mare “RB Magic Man” came in second place, ridden by Hood bin Ghalib Al Foori, owned by Mahmoud bin Abdulrahim Al Raisi, and trained by Ahmed bin Salem Al Kalbani. The mare “MG Swan” secured third place, ridden by Abdulrahman bin Khalid Al Zadjali, owned and trained by Muhannad bin Ibrahim Al Balushi, following strong competition among the participating riders, reflecting the advanced level of endurance racing in the governorate.Mohammed bin Rashid Al Shuhi, Director General of Administrative and Financial Affairs in Al Buraimi Governorate, confirmed that organizing the endurance race comes as part of the governorate’s efforts to diversify its sports and community events and support equestrian sports. He noted that such events contribute to enhancing sports activity and attracting various segments, in addition to providing opportunities for youth to showcase their talents and develop their capabilities across different sports fields.At the conclusion of the race, His Excellency Sayyid Dr. Hamad bin Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi, honored the winners of the top positions, in the presence of a number of officials, stakeholders, and those interested in equestrian sports, emphasizing the importance of continuing to organize such sporting events that contribute to activating the sports movement and strengthening the presence of equestrian sports in the governorate.
