Al Buraimi Governorate organized today the 2026 media briefing under the slogan “Al Buraimi Delivers” at the conference hall of Al Salam Grand Resort in Wilayat Al Buraimi, for the second consecutive year. The event was held as part of the governorate’s ongoing approach to strengthening transparency and communication with media outlets, while showcasing the most prominent achievements and development projects across the governorate.During the meeting, which was attended by His Excellency Sayyid Dr. Hamad bin Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi, along with a number of officials and representatives of local media outlets, a visual presentation was delivered highlighting the governorate’s development journey. The presentation included key performance indicators, major projects implemented across various sectors, as well as priorities and future directions aligned with Oman Vision 2040.The briefing reviewed key performance indicators, showing that the governorate achieved a completion rate of 100% in several Oman Vision 2040 targets during 2025. Improvements were also recorded in multiple indicators, including an increase in the digital transformation index from 73% in 2024 to 83% in 2025, alongside the implementation of several integration and connectivity operations with national platforms. Institutional performance also rose to 81% compared to 75%, while the institutional excellence evaluation reached 90%.Regarding project implementation, the total number of projects in the governorate reached 112 projects, with a total value estimated at OMR 29.5 million. These included 88 service projects and 24 infrastructure projects, achieving an overall completion rate of 88%, while the value of awarded development projects in the infrastructure sector exceeded OMR 12 million.In the telecommunications and postal sector, the governorate witnessed notable progress in coverage and digital infrastructure indicators. Fiber optic coverage for residential units increased to 79% compared to 71%, while fifth-generation network coverage rose to 93% from 86%, in addition to achieving 100% coverage of schools with fixed broadband services. The number of 5G stations also increased to 152, telecommunications stations to 358, and fiber optic connections to 30,000, alongside an increase in postal branches and access points to 18 locations, reflecting the accelerating pace of digital transformation and improvements in service quality.The meeting also highlighted several strategic projects, most notably the Economic Zone project in Al Rawdah نيابة, the Hafeet Rail network project, as well as urban development initiatives including the Al Buraimi Oasis – City Center project, the Crystal Lake project, and internal road development projects.In the field of digital transformation, 2,805 digital transactions were completed, 25 services were digitized, and several services dedicated to investors and employees were introduced, alongside the implementation of multiple digital initiatives. The “Tajawub” platform also recorded 882 transactions with an achievement rate of 98.8%.In the investment sector, 23 investment contracts were signed with a total investment volume nearing OMR 12 million across diverse economic sectors. The commercial sector accounted for the highest share at 38%, followed by the industrial and mining sector at 21%, and the service sector at 24%.As part of ongoing efforts to empower national talents, the total number of Omani employees participating in the implementation of projects and contracts related to the governorate during 2025 and 2026 reached approximately 166 employees, reflecting growing employment opportunities and stronger participation of national competencies.Regarding tourism activity, the governorate organized 13 events during 2025, attracting more than 375,400 visitors and contributing to economic activity, tourism promotion, and support for small and medium enterprises.The meeting also featured an interactive discussion session during which representatives of media outlets and social media platforms raised questions and inquiries regarding key issues related to services and development projects in the governorate.His Excellency Sayyid Dr. Hamad bin Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi, emphasized the importance of the media as an active partner in highlighting development achievements, noting that the government continues implementing its projects and plans according to a vision focused on improving service quality and enhancing performance efficiency.His Excellency further noted that the governorate is witnessing growing economic activity reflected in rising market value indicators and purchasing power, strengthening its attractiveness as an investment-friendly environment. He also praised the positive role of the community, particularly youth, in supporting the development process and contributing to productivity and progress.He added that during the coming phase, the governorate will focus on strengthening integrated developmental roles for each wilayat, enhancing investment, accelerating digital transformation, and developing infrastructure and the urban landscape, in support of sustainable development goals and reinforcing the governorate’s position as an active development hub.
