The Ministry of Education reviewed a number of files related to the development of the education system in Al Buraimi Governorate, as well as ways to enhance cooperation and joint coordination in support of the education sector in the governorate, in the presence of Her Excellency Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibani, Minister of Education, and His Excellency Sayyid Dr. Hamad bin Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi.The meeting highlighted the key pillars of education development in the Sultanate of Oman, including the development of school curricula, academic plans, and the educational ladder, in line with modern developments and aimed at enhancing the quality of the educational process, improving student achievement, and strengthening skills development.The meeting also addressed the latest developments in vocational and technical education, along with the Ministry’s efforts to introduce educational and training pathways that contribute to preparing and qualifying national competencies in line with labour market needs. In addition, the meeting reviewed the educational evaluation framework and its role in improving educational performance and enhancing learning outcomes, as well as strengthening partnerships between educational institutions and various sectors to align educational programmes with future professional requirements and support the development of students’ practical and innovative skills, thereby enhancing their readiness for the labour market and keeping pace with rapid changes across different fields.The meeting further reviewed digital transformation efforts within the education system and the technological projects implemented by the Ministry in the fields of e-learning and digital infrastructure, in support of improving the educational environment and enhancing the efficiency of educational services provided to students and teaching and administrative staff. The discussions also covered modern digital initiatives aimed at improving educational services and increasing the efficiency of electronic systems, in addition to reviewing efforts to employ artificial intelligence technologies in supporting the educational process and improving teachers’ experiences, in line with digital transformation goals and Oman’s future vision.In the area of human resources, several topics related to appointments, transfers, and promotions were discussed, in addition to reviewing the supervisory planning framework for higher education institutions and coordination efforts between educational and academic entities in support of the governorate’s aspirations and future needs. Positive indicators were also presented regarding the number of students from the governorate accepted into educational institutions during the years 2023–2026.Specialists also reviewed education indicators and statistics in the Sultanate of Oman, including the number of teachers in government, private, and international schools, Omanization rates within the educational workforce, and data related to national cadres working in the education sector. The meeting additionally discussed major development projects included within the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, as well as the Ministry of Education’s financial data for 2026 and aspects of joint cooperation aimed at achieving educational development goals in the governorate and enhancing the quality of educational services provided to the community.At the conclusion of the meeting, time was dedicated to discussion and the exchange of views and proposals among attendees, during which several topics and challenges related to the education sector were addressed, along with ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination in support of developing the educational system in Al Buraimi Governorate.
