His Excellency Eng. Saeed bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, conducted a field visit today to Al Buraimi Governorate to inspect infrastructure projects and sites affected by the recent weather conditions. He was accompanied by His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi, His Excellency Eng. Khamis bin Mohammed Al Shamakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, along with a number of officials and specialists.During the visit, His Excellency inspected Al Khatwa Bridge in Wilayat Mahdhah and reviewed the extent of the damage caused by the recent weather condition “Masarrat Depression.” The visit aimed to identify the technical requirements necessary for rehabilitating the bridge and improving the efficiency of the road leading to the wilayat to ensure sustainable and smooth traffic movement.His Excellency also reviewed the plans for the dualization project of the Al Buraimi–Mahdhah Road, which is scheduled for implementation during the coming phase. The project is considered one of the strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening connectivity between the governorate’s wilayats and stimulating economic and commercial activity.The field tour further included visits to several major development and tourism projects in the governorate, including the Crystal Lake project and the Al Buraimi Oasis project. His Excellency reviewed the progress of work on these projects, which aim to enhance the governorate’s urban landscape and create integrated recreational destinations for citizens and visitors.This visit comes within the framework of continuous follow-up efforts to accelerate the repair of damages resulting from weather systems and to monitor the implementation of vital projects supporting comprehensive development plans across the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
