The third edition of the “Irada” training initiative concluded in Al Buraimi Governorate under the patronage of His Excellency Sayyid Dr. Hamad bin Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi, and in the presence of a number of officials, representatives of supporting entities, and partners. The initiative followed a three-month training journey that represented a practical model for empowering job seekers and preparing them to meet labour market requirements. The initiative, supervised by the Municipal Council of Al Buraimi Governorate with the support of the governorate, comes as an extension of an ongoing approach that believes investing in people, particularly youth, is a key pillar of sustainable development. In its third batch, the initiative targeted 75 job seekers, with the support of 30 institutions and individuals, reflecting the integration of community efforts and the strengthening of shared responsibility toward building national competencies. The initiative included an integrated training framework comprising 10 main training sessions, in addition to specialized workshops and field visits, in partnership with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry branch, the Social Development Department, and Al Buraimi Institute for Administrative Training, with the participation of Al Buraimi University College and the University of Al Buraimi. This contributed to providing a quality training environment that combined theoretical qualification with practical application. The training programmes focused on developing participants’ professional and personal skills through specialized courses and workshops covering secretarial work, accounting, sustainable marketing, human resources, computer skills, CV preparation in line with ATS systems, preparation for job interviews, time management, photography, emotional intelligence, and entrepreneurship, in addition to utilizing artificial intelligence technologies in building career paths and creating employment opportunities. The initiative also included specialized themes addressing the provisions of the Omani Labour Law, personal branding, and freelancing, along with opportunities for practical training within several government institutions. This enhanced participants’ readiness, linked training outcomes to actual labour market needs, and reinforced the concepts of self-reliance and professional initiative. Ms. Maryam bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Yazidi, member of the Municipal Council of Al Buraimi Governorate and supervisor of the initiative, expressed her pride in the achievements of the initiative in its third batch and the tangible qualitative impact achieved by previous batches in empowering youth and refining their capabilities.
