Wilayat Al Buraimi is witnessing continued progress in the implementation of a package of internal road and urban humanization projects, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen infrastructure, develop service and tourism facilities, and enhance the efficiency of road networks across the governorate.Regarding road paving projects, 25 kilometres have been completed under the first package, with the completion rate of main works reaching 84%, while the overall completion rate of the project stands at 51%. In the second package, 20 kilometres have been paved, with related works reaching 50% completion and the overall completion rate standing at 33%.As for the maintenance of roads affected by weather conditions, the overall completion rate has reached 16%. Asphalt paving has been completed at 10 sites, with work currently underway to complete the required protection works. This coincides with the start of maintenance works at 10 additional sites located along the old road linking Mahdhah and Al Fay, as well as several sites in Wilayat Al Buraimi.In terms of urban humanization projects and the development of public roads, the project to develop the main road from Al Salam Roundabout to Al Khadhra Roundabout was completed in February 2026. The project covered a total area of 35,450 square metres and included the construction of health walkways extending 2,688 metres.Work is currently ongoing on the project to develop the main road from Al Nahdha Roundabout to Al Salam Roundabout, covering an area of approximately 90,000 square metres and extending 4,868 metres. The project features integrated facilities that enhance both aesthetic and investment value, including health walkways, green and water features, a cycling track, restrooms, investment buildings, café shades, and the replacement of existing street lighting poles with modern poles along the main road.In the same context, the cycling track project is currently in the design phase. The project extends for 6 kilometres with a width of 3 metres and includes dedicated parking facilities for vehicles and bicycles over an area of 200 square metres, in addition to the construction of the necessary protective measures to ensure user safety.These projects come in line with the governorate’s urban expansion and commercial activity, contributing to the creation of a healthy and ideal environment equipped with recreational and service facilities for citizens, residents, and visitors.
