Extensive Field Efforts to Enhance Public Cleanliness in the Wilayat of Al Buraimi

As part of its efforts to enhance public cleanliness and environmental sanitation, Al Buraimi Municipality is carrying out an extensive cleaning campaign covering various areas of the wilayat. The campaign aims to preserve the appearance of neighborhoods and public facilities through a field program that began last July and will continue until October.The campaign is being implemented by two field teams working simultaneously at separate locations, according to a plan that gradually covers different areas of the wilayat. Work has already been completed in Harat Hamasa, Harat Al Qadhi, the Industrial Area, and Barhouz, while operations are currently underway in Khadhra Al Saih, with the campaign set to extend to the remaining areas of the wilayat.So far, the campaign has resulted in the removal of 254 loads of waste, totaling more than 280 tonnes. This included tree and brush waste, debris from random dumping, and other types of waste. The work has also involved cleaning and sweeping internal roads, public spaces, alleys, wadi crossings, and drainage channels, as well as removing weeds and harmful vegetation, pruning trees, and transporting waste to designated disposal sites.Al Buraimi Municipality has deployed the necessary field teams, equipment, and machinery to implement the campaign, with around 65 workers assigned across different work sites. The program takes into account the needs of each area and fieldwork priorities, with the aim of covering all areas of the wilayat within the campaign’s designated timeframe.Mr. Thuwaini bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Sudairi, Head of the Health Inspection and Licensing Section at Al Buraimi Municipality, said that field teams will continue their work according to the approved program until all areas of the wilayat are covered. He called on members of the community to cooperate and report locations requiring additional cleaning work, helping teams identify priorities and direct their efforts according to the actual needs of each area.He added that maintaining public cleanliness is a shared responsibility, stressing the importance of avoiding improper waste-disposal practices and random dumping, and of disposing of waste only at designated locations in order to protect public health, safeguard the environment, and preserve the overall appearance of the wilayat.
