The “Al Buraimi Winter” activities concluded this evening at Al Sunaynah Public Park after three days of events organized by Al Buraimi Governorate. The closing event was attended by His Excellency Sayyid Dr. Hamad bin Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi. The program featured a diverse range of heritage, recreational, and community activities that attracted residents and visitors from within and outside the governorate.Engineer Musa bin Saeed Al Abri, Director General of Al Buraimi Municipality, said: “Under the direct guidance and continued support of His Excellency Sayyid Dr. Hamad bin Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi, we have been keen to diversify and distribute events across the various wilayats of the governorate in a manner that highlights the distinctive character and tourism and heritage assets of each wilayat. Al Sunaynah was selected as the first destination in the governorate’s events season due to its rich cultural heritage and tourism potential, which deserve greater promotion and investment to attract visitors and stimulate tourism activity.”Al Abri added that the events witnessed a strong public turnout and notable engagement from visitors from both within and outside the governorate. He noted that the turnout contributed to stimulating economic activity in the wilayat during the event and provided productive families and small and medium enterprises with opportunities to showcase and market their products. He emphasized that such engagement encourages the further development and expansion of future events.Engineer Musa also noted that the camel race held alongside the activities attracted participants and spectators from various governorates across the Sultanate of Oman and featured highly competitive and exciting races. He said the event received positive feedback from camel owners and participants for its successful organization, stressing the commitment to continue holding the race in the coming years to enhance the status of this long-established sport and strengthen its presence among younger generations.The Director General of Al Buraimi Municipality added that the coming period will feature distinctive events and new experiences in the wilayats of Mahdah and Al Buraimi, catering to the interests of different segments of society and enriching the options available to residents and visitors. He noted that the direct support of His Excellency the Governor represents a key pillar in developing these events and enhancing their tourism, social, and economic impact.
